If you’re in Kiwisaver you need KiwiSelect
This was the best part of the Small Business Expo this year (in fact the ONLY memorable part). KiwiSelect helps you get off the default KiwiSaver plan that you got stuck on because you didn’t have time to figure out all the options… And onto the best plan for you.
It also helps you manage your KiwiSaver options as the years roll by so you can always ensure you are with the right plan.
Its a super slick website with a swish calculator right on the front page that shows you just how much money you expect to have by retirement if you keep saving. (You will be pleasantly surprised!)
It’s FREE to use, and nice to look at… Brilliant!

This site is powered by SilverStripe (http://www.silverstripe.com/) , one of your fellow local Welly Tech Companies.
And yes, very nice style and design!

While I do hate to play the cynic card, according to their disclosure it does look like these guys get a commission from the providers they profile.
While there’s nothing wrong with that, just don’t rely on it for impartial advice (insomuch that this advice can ever be impartial advice can ever be impartial).
I agree about the implementation though.

Yup Adam, sorry I already knew that, but didn’t mention it! The thing is (I hope) they can only be successful as long as people trust them, so they have to offer accurate advice.
Toolman, yup I also knew that! Go Wellington!

Thanks for the post Natalie & great to read the responses. We ended up having to scale the site back to go live for the Expo, so there are tons of enhancements planned for the coming weeks (mostly based on suggestions from early users).
Adam, you’re right that KiwiSelect is paid by the different providers (however as Natalie mentions we’re only as good as the advice and service that we’re offering). Also there are no extra costs to our service – the total fee our clients pay is exactly the same as if they went to a provider directly or used a bank or whatever.
KiwiSelect’s definitely a Welly project - as well as SilverStripe we’ve had the team at The Church involved too.
Cheers again!

ha ha. Yes, maybe because I was right int here last year. But none of the cool stands were there apart from the rope climb. No big giveaways, and no happy chatty people.
And I didn’t get to sneak into the private party with you Marie-Claire.
