Irrational fears.
Pondered by Nat
more than a month ago
I read a post on Stuff this morning about irrational fears. HILARIOUS.
It made me laugh so hard at all the things that I am actually afraid of that I have been afraid of since I was a kid, and have now trained myself to believe is normal. My irrational fears:
- Dangling my legs over my bed when sleeping. I’m now 99.9% sure there are no boogiemen under there, but NO WAY am I going to find out
- Sharks AND stingrays. Yup, even in the shallows.
- Popping corks on bottles of bubbly. I’m CONVINCED they’re going straight into my eyes.
- Automatic doors
And those are just the ones from the top of my head… It makes you wonder how we even get through the day with all the stupid irrational fears we have!

Actually the bubbly cork fear is very rational. Accidents do happen. There’s a right way and a wrong way to remove the cork. Next time you have a decent bottle, I’ll be happy to show you!
As for the rest, what about spiders?

I love how you had to specify ‘decent’! Surely we need to celebrate our one-year (or 1.5/2 year) anniversary of Vista lunch at some point soon? A GREAT opportunity to demo popping the bubbly cork!

One has standards to maintain! I’ve seen the trolleys full of Lindaur going out of New World when it’s on special.
