It’s like getting teeth extracted.

In fact, I am getting teeth extracted. 4 of them. At this stage, the social norm of paying for such pain seems ludicrous.
However, once again, I marvel at GREAT customer service. I have never been sick. I have never been operated on. And now I’m going to be knocked out and have parts of my body removed.
The fact that this oral surgeon made me feel fine about that is to his credit.
The countdown to August 8th has begun.
Mum is stocking her fridge with ice cream and I will move home to her for the week.

Lame! dental work is expensive. I went for a checkup a month ago, and due to a report of decay have been flossing every other day out of guilt

Uh huh. Heard that story before. An electric toothbrush is your BEST friend. I have made it to 24 with no fillings and the cleanest teeth you can expect to have (according to my dentist who I see on average every 7 years).
Luckily for me, my dad made me get medical insurance. I got it in case anything tragic happened to me and had to stop working for a while – but turns out it’s come in useful in under a year!

Nat, good idea moving back to be w ur mum..the surgery itself is not bad…the recovery process is painful..:( last year this time, i went thru it…and would i would have done to have my mum around…24 and no filling.impressive!!! i thought i had good teeth..;-)

Good luck, Nat. I hope yours aren’t impacted. All four of mine were, so the surgeon had to shatter them before he could pull them out bit by bit. I spent two full weeks convalescing. I looked so much like a human-chipmunk that my mom and Jake could not look at me with a straight face.
I have heard it typically takes women twice as long to recover as men. don’t know why…
Ohhhh, and the pain killers made me — you know, i might save that story for another time.
