Send Big Files for Free With YouSendIt
We all know that email leaves a lot to be desired on the communication front, but it also fails dismally in sending large files. This can cause major frustration when trying to figure out how to get that big file from your computer to that computer a thousand miles away.
That is why we love services like YouSendIt. Not only is the process as simple as they come, you get your files delivered to inboxes faster than it takes to figure out what all that large-file-fuss was even about.
As with all great-yet-simple tools, there are many options. While we use YouSendIt, I also really like the look of DropSend and its exceptionally cool website.
Both tools have a free option that gives you a lot, as well as paid versions for those who send massive files to many people.

I tried YouSendIt. It’s good, but pricy.
I use Outlook, and I’ve really liked using OutDisk, a new plug-in that integrates FTP into Outlook. Its similar in operation to YSI, except that you need to use your own web host. That’s fine with me, because for $7/mo I get 75GB of space and 1TB transfer — MUCH cheaper than YSI.
OutDisk installs as an email toolbar button. Open a new email, click OutDisk, select your files, and send your message. OutDisk FTP’s the file to your disk, and inserts a download link into the email. It works very slick.
I’m in a 2 week trial, but this is one I plan to buy. You can get the trial at http://www.encryptomatic.com/outdisk

Hey, Thanks for the comment. We haven't found YouSendIt to be pricey for our needs, and we try to help small businesses move away from relying on expensive Microsoft products where possible. We use Thunderbird, which is an excellent alternative for us as a mail client.
It appears that you are affiliated with OutDisk, this is great, but it would be nice if you explained that in your comment instead of appearing as an impartial user :)
