The Balance Between Company and Client
Design is an interesting beast. Everyone has their own ideas about what looks good or bad, add to that the challenge of making a design actually work for the web and you sometimes get yourself in some interesting situations.
Quite recently James made one of the most beautiful designs I have seen in a while. It really worked, it was clear, stunning and really got across the nature of the business it was representing. The problem was, the customers had quite a good idea before they came to us of what they wanted. And this wasn’t it.
This is when your role as designer become a little tricky. How much is your job convincing someone about what you think is best, and how much of it is simply doing what they want?
I’m still not really sure, but it’s a dilemma you encounter a lot in this business.
