The Lovely Bones Movie Premiere

Pondered by Nat over two years ago

We were excited, we were prepped for crowds, we had our iPhones at the ready for autographs as the red carpet was laid out and the barriers put in place.

Wellington has a film premiere once in a blue moon, which is also basically, whenever Peter Jackson can convince some of his actors to head down here. On the spot, we all become film industry experts (“Normally these premieres are much bigger” “oh you know the movie industry, it’s all about who you know”), this despite none of us having anything to do with the movies and also none of us having ever been to a premiere before.

I was expecting more. Like maybe a crowd? Maybe some faces I could recognise… Maybe Peter Jackson turning up at roughly the same time as the cast (because, to be honest, it’s him we went to see)

Also, as a side note: Has anyone else noticed that celebrities are a total sub species? They are TINY. Like not even normal tiny, they are like LITTLE PEOPLE. I don’t know where they get found in amongst the general population! This troubles me because:

1. I now know my movie career will be limited to playing the giant
2. I think I would dwarf R-Patz, which defo puts a dampner on our relationship.

Here are the famous people we saw (minus the ones that I didn’t recognise and minus Shorty Street stars – Call me a tall poppy syndrome victim, but I just couldn’t bring myself to look like I cared). Also at least one of these people MIGHT not be famous. I just took a guess based on the number of autographs they were being asked for.
