How splashy you all look! That was a completely random word, but it was the one that popped into my head when I saw this picture. Look at all of you compared to the people sitting behind you in grungy clothes!

We are taking my hopelessly impractical car south this year and with no room for just about everything we have had to be creative with Christmas gifts.

These include:

1)	For him: an annual membership to www.myfootballclub.co.uk: there is no boy alive who has not dreamt of owning and managing their own football club. They have an agreement in principle to buy a controlling stake in Ebbsfield United and only thirty five quid.

2)	For her: tickets to one of the many awesome events at the New Zealand Arts Festival (http://www.nzfestival.nzpost.co.nz/), there is a lot to see and do. Include a ticket for yourself and don’t be afraid to pay the extra for “A res seating.

3)	For the young: A Wellington Pheonix strip now with new sponsor Sony: good enough for Beckham – good enough for anyone.

4)	For the old: a blog: buy a relevant domain and set up a blog engine on it – a few lessons on Christmas day on how to use the CMS and they will be away, or at least bragging about their own website to the friends at the bridge club.

Four solid and novel gifts which all fit into the glove box.
